March 20th
Today was a national celebration of traffic. Accra marked the day by getting hot at 8am instead of 9, and congesting itself to the point where it took three hours to get across town in a cab.
I’m off to Ezile Bay for Easter (www.ezilebay.com). I heard a rumour they have oxygen there. I’ve had enough of breathing a mixture of pulverised lead and red dust.
I spent today at the University of Ghana at Legon, enjoying the breeze and watching the lizards run around. No marriage proposals today, but an interesting experience trying to eat a chillied fish with nothing but a rice dumpling and my fingers.
Off to the beach, hurray…
Enjoy the fresh air and beaches hon – sounds like you deserve the break!
